Principal/Manager

  • Provided real estate advice, consultation, strategic planning, research and analysis for an international consortium in the final round of the RFP for the Port Mann Highway widening, including 37 kms of road and 500 properties.
  • Provided property acquisition and consultation services for municipal, regional and provincial governments and utility companies for the purpose of acquiring land for full and partial interests for road widenings, parks and school sites, various utilities, license, leases, and rights of way. Duties included preparing budgets, reviewing and analyzing, strategic planning for efficient, timely delivery of projects, contract administration with appraisers, surveyors, environmental consultants, and negotiations with property owners. Clients include Corporation of Delta, City of New Westminster, City of Richmond, Metro Vancouver, Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, Ministry of Forestry, Telus Communications Inc., BC Hydro, Gateway Mobility Partners.
  • Provided property acquisition and disposition services to private individuals for acquisition and disposition of residential properties.

BC Housing Management Commission                   January 1987 to August 1995

Manager, Housing Programs Administration

  • Managed 24 staff members.
  • Responsible for managing the administration of development and property management of   social housing projects in accordance with joint Canada Mortgage and Housing and British Columbia’s Program requirements. Prepared budgets and administered housing contracts, contract administration for housing consultants, and project financing ($202 million), worked closely with non-profit housing societies, administered stages of project development and move in. The development program included approximately 35-40 Multi-family projects and 50 Special Needs Housing projects per annum with an annual budget of $100 million for land acquisition and construction financing. The property management program included approximately 800 societies and an annual budget of $80 million funded to societies by housing subsidies.
  • Met with Assistant Deputy Minister & senior government staff to negotiate solutions to complex housing issues and Society’s non-compliance to contracts & program criteria.
  • Liaised with all levels of government (Municipal, Provincial and Federal) and members of the private sector, (lenders, architects, developers, contractors, lawyers) and prospective residents and their advocates to negotiate and resolve problems and to ensure the timely completion of projects.   

Western & Pacific Bank of Canada              April 1984 to December 1986

  • Established procedures and record keeping systems to fulfill the requirements for a new Schedule A Bank.
  • Researched potential clients by performing site inspections, reviewing appraisals, obtaining credit reports and analyzing financial data.
